A brief Q& A with LadyBossBlogger, Elaine Rau

Currently, LadyBossBlogger, Elaine Rau and I follow each other on Twitter. However, following her work and her blog was about a lot more than just adding yet another person to my follower count. Because we have one thing in common: a passionate dedication to helping entrepreneurs succeed, thrive, and grow.

So I decided to interview LadyBossBlogger, Elaine Rau and get to know her work a little bit better

Everything you’re about to read is the transcript of my interview with LadyBossBlogger, Elaine Rau. Elaine is someone who hit rock bottom, moved to a new country, and managed to accumulate over 150,000 followers in 2 years via her widely successfull blog. So there’s lot that can be learned from her experience.

Overall, how would you describe the work that you do?

I am a full-time blogger and business owner at LadyBossBlogger.com and I show people how to do the following:

How did you first get started on LadyBossBlogger?

Then, I realized my impulse put me in a rather dire situation where I was both jobless and “homeless”. So I had to figure out a way to make the most of my new circumstances. Then, I started blogging to learn about who I wanted to become and I named it “Lady Boss Blogger”. Because that was who I wanted to be, and was exactly who I became.

If you could go back in a time machine to the moment when you first started LadyBossBlogger, and you only had a few minutes, what would tell the past version of yourself and why?

Overall, your email list is just as important if not more important than followers. Although I have 200K+ followers across my social channels and 15K subscribers, I’ve always wanted the numbers flipped.

Because Instagram went down again during Thanksgiving, I emailed my mailing list, and said that If they don’t invest in alternative ways to reach their audience, their business and sales won’t be stable.

You once called yourself “your first student.” How has that influenced your approach to your work?

When I started LadyBossBlogger, I knew absolutely nothing about blogging or business. However, after interviewing thousands of women, accepting their guest posts on my blog, and working with1000+ mentors everything is a learning process and I’m still learning! As a course creator, I have sold my knowledge in bundles. So, if you stay one step ahead of your students, you will always be the “expert”.

Keep that in mind if you’re wanting to create a course. Because it’s not as hard as it may seem. You just have to know your audience.

What do you wish more people who are new to blogging knew about blogging? And why do you feel like it’s such a key thing to remember?

It’s not about you, it’s about learning who your audience is. I didn’t blog about blogging when I started nor did I want to, I blogged about business. However, after a year of blogging I was interviewed on the Huffington Post about my blog and started getting loads of questions in my email about how to blog.

So I rounded up all their questions and made it into a course. When the same thing happened with my influencer course, people saw that I was getting successful on @elainerau and wanted to know what I was doing, so I created a course for them as well.

What blogs and/ or podcasts have you been actively following lately, and what do you liked about them?

I actually don’t follow too many blogs, I just purchase courses from bloggers that I admire. Because I know that is where they put their best content. I learned everything about affiliate marketing in this course and Pinterest in this course.

On a related note: what do you wish more blogs, YouTube videos, E-books, courses, etc. covered when creating resources for people who are interested in making money online?

I like quick and to the point content, instead of taking me on an emotional journey and taking twice as long to consume.

What’s your favourite part of the work that you do?

Mentoring my interns! I talk to every single one of them for at least 5-10 minutes on Mondays.

It gives me great joy to mentor the younger generation and give them the tools and skills they need to thrive in the workplace after they graduate! So, if you’re interested, here’s the application: ladybossblogger.com/career.

Overall, what do you hope to include in your business over the long-term that you haven’t already?

I’m going to be starting to work with influencers. If you’re interested apply here first: ladybossblogger.com/become-an-affiliate.

Lastly, where can readers find you online?
