What’s new with my business this year

2017 is nearly two weeks old, and I’ve already introduced a lot of new stuff to my business.

So, I wanted to take a second to let you, my lovely readers, know exactly what’s coming next.

I spent some well-deserved quiet time, hanging out in a house that my family now has in one of my favorite Ontario small towns, and it allowed me to do a lot of thinking.

But it wasn’t necessarily the bad kind of thinking. It was the kind of thinking that allowed to think carefully about what was necessary to move things forward.

What’s new for my business in 2017:

A lot of that thinking revolved around what I wanted to accomplish in 2017, and I’m already working on these goals.

Business updates 2017

1) I’m now content management-focused

I’m really proud of myself for keeping this business going for the past two years. In fact, my three year anniversary will happen in the summer of 2017.

Not everyone can accomplish that because let’s face it. Freelancing isn’t for everyone.

I’ve learned a lot over the past two years, and now that I’m at the point where running a freelance business isn’t exactly new unexplored territory.

So, as soon as things got quiet over the holidays, I took the time to really take the time to revamp my online image to make sure that it’s staying true to my personality and approach to things.

While I was doing that, I had an amazing epiphany. Clients, well my ideal client at least, don’t just want a content writer.

It’s not that I didn’t know that before.

I just need to reassure my clients that this is who I am and include a variety of content management add-ons in all my services to be where I want to be in my business.

2) You might have noticed the “WordPress& Weebly specialist” label

I’ve done a lot of work for WordPress websites, and I understand Weebly like the back of my hand.

So, I’m proud to announce that starting in 2017, my business is now focusing exclusively on content management, creation, and editing for WordPress & Weebly websites.

3) Rosie Writing Space has a new look

It started just before the holidays when I purchased a custom domain on Bluehost for this blog. And I’m glad I did it.

Throughout every step of the process, Bluehost provided me with excellent customer service, affordable hosting, and the chance to set up WordPress within a short period of time.

In fact, my experience was so positive that I decided to take a chance and become a Bluehost affiliate.

This blog has grown more than I could have possibly imagined, since its 2009 debut.

So it was time to make a change to reflect all the amazing things that this blog has accomplished. I spent a lot of time over the holidays giving this blog a new look that I can really, truly, be proud of.

While you’re here, take a look around at what’s new, and feel free to subscribe, of course!

4) Rosie Writing Space is now affiliate friendly

As this blog has started to grow, I’ve got requests from businesses, who want me to advertise their business on my blog.

And that’s flattering. Unfortunately, not enough of the request were from businesses that I’m willing to endorse.

Not to mention, I’ve never had affiliate endorsements on Rosie Writing Space until now.

That’s exactly why I published an affiliate terms & conditions page on my commercial website.

I’ve decided to be open to affiliate requests, but also be super picky.

I will only endorse companies that I believe in.

And this page has been a great way to remind people of that.

Its has also allowed to only endorse companies I like.

5) I’ve provided people with a great program for referring me to their friends

The other day, I got a really exciting lead.

It started because a LinkedIn connection referred me to someone within their network.

My experiences with referrals have been so great that I wanted to make sure there’s lots of great benefits.

The objective:

Encouraging fans of my work to be more than just a silent cheering squad.
