a monolouge from streets of the western corners, my first play

Bess: Maria, its winter soon. ‘Member the winter where ol’ Mr. Brown freezed to death ‘cause he got too cold? I lucky last winter some lady in a suit and a warm coat took pity on me an’ gave me twenty dollar. With that twenty dollar I buy myself a nice jacket from one of those dollar stores where everything is cheap shit and I buy myself a pack of cigarettes and lots of beer from some store where I ain’t able to drink th’ beer or ‘ave the cigarettes cause it’s so fucking expensive. That rich man beer made me warm for a long time. That shit from one of them South American countries where they speak fucking Spanish or some shit like that.
I can’t stand how all those rich folk in fancy coats and expensive things can say no sorry when I ask for money. They ‘ave everything and they think they can say no sorry I don’t have no money when they ‘ave a shit load full of money.
They ain’t believing that you’re real, Maria. They all think me crazy and talking to myself. We can do it Maria we’ll get through winter together. Maybe you can help you can speak 3 fucking languages or somethin’ like that. You can speak the way through. People like that kind of shit these days. Maria, you smart, you could’ve done somethin’ with your life.
